Wall Art Energie Park: Craftsmanship in the Spotlight

Karski created a spectacular artwork on the wall of the Tweelinghuis building on Langegracht in Leiden. This impressive mural can be found at Ambachtsplein.

Our artist Karski created the design in close collaboration with local makers. Their wish: to show young people who are proud of their craft skills, as inspiration for the new generation to choose important manufacturing professions.

In the artwork, we see three craftspeople forging a new Leiden key for Art and Culture together. Symbolic elements enrich the whole: a hop plant refers to the Pronck brewery across the street, while a Leiden blanket maker represents the rich crafting history of the city.

With this mural, we seek to draw more attention to art, culture, and crafts. The project was made possible by the Culture Fund, the municipal Youth Culture Impulse Subsidy, and the Energiepark Leiden project.
