Unique Site Hut – Wallaard

It is likely over 50 years old. Over that time, Wallaard’s oldest site cabin has seen countless projects, construction sites, and generations of skilled workers come and go. Get rid of it? That would be a shame.

As part of the fleet renewal, the old cabin was fully restored. We then had the opportunity to work on the exterior in collaboration with Heelhart and Wallaard. The result is a colorful, mobile work of art that puts the very people who carry out the work outdoors every day at the center of attention.

From oldest cabin to mobile billboard

Wallaard operates around 75 site cabins and management units across the Netherlands. Over the past year and a half, the fleet has undergone a major overhaul, featuring new amenities, improved storage space, and the company’s signature blue-green color scheme.

The oldest cabin received a special finishing touch. The illustrations on the exterior showcase Wallaard’s work and the skilled professionals behind it. This transformed a practical object—usually relegated to the sidelines of a job site—into an integral part of the story.

And it won’t just sit in the depot for show. The painted cabin travels between various Wallaard projects, popping up in different locations across the Netherlands. Its first stop was the 'Italiaanse Wijk' (Italian Quarter) in The Hague.

Something other than a standard wall mural?
